Swedish Degree: teknologie magisterexamen I Tillampad Informationsteknologi med Inriktning mot Art and Technology

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This program is intended both for students with a scientific or technical background who would like to explore artistic forms of expression and get an in-depth knowledge of computer graphics and sound technologies, and for artists from different genres who want to learn how to use the computer as the powerful tool that it is.

An introductory semester with basic mathematics and programming for artists or an introduction to artistic means of expression for students from science and technology is adapted to the individual background of the student. Theory courses are combined with projects and workshops where students with different backgrounds collaborate, with internationally recognized guest teachers acting as advisors. Public exhibitions and performances form an important part of the program. Most courses are focused on sophisticated uses of technology that is readily available to students after they graduate, but more advanced technology (e.g. virtual reality equipment) is also available for special projects.
