Dalarna University College | Master of Arts in European Tourism Management (ETM)

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Seven universities and colleges, in the UK, France, Germany , the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Sweden are engaged in master's level tourism training and theory, providing research facilities in a joint European framework. The program is oriented towards the integration of scientific theories and methods and its application to case work related to tourism.

The one-year program is divided into three stages: Stage one is a one-term intensive course, taught in English, at Bournemouth University (UK), University of Professional Education , NHTV, Breda (Netherlands) or Hogskolan Dalarna (Sweden). Stage 2 consists of applied case studies conducted in French at Universite de Savoie, in German at Fachhochschule Heilbronn or in Spanish at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid.

There is also an English-only program, where students atudy the second term at Universidade do Algarve, Farp-Portugal. The successful completion of stages one and two gives access to the preparation of an individual master's dissertation, to be examined by an international faculty. 60 students from all parts of Europe are accepted to the ETM program each year.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Tourism, or related disciplines with a specialization in Tourism.
- Excellent language skills in English and either French, German or Spanish.
- Work experience in a tourism-related field, minimum six months
