Why Study in Sweden

Sweden’s educational policy is based on the recognition that a multi-cultural student body is a resource. More and more foreign students are coming to Sweden as the number of master’s programs taught in English continues to grow.

What attracts large numbers of students to Sweden? Quality is one factor. Sweden has one of Europe’s most comprehensive quality evaluation systems. Investment is another factor. The OECD puts Sweden among the world’s top investors in Education. Swedish universities are renowned for their investigative research and independent thinking.

Investment has helped produce a vibrant, creative and student-centered system, one in which much of the wok is left to the student’s own initiative. Though often demanding, such a system – with its lack of rigid scheduling – encourages students to develop a critical mind and an independent approach – two highly-sought attributes in today’s knowledge-based employment market.

All Swedish institutions of higher education offer excellent facilities and have an international outlook. They are actively engaged in student exchange and research cooperation with universities abroad.

Almost all Swedes speak fluent English. Many Swedish companies use English as their official working language. Foreign students find that this prevalence in English makes adapting to their new surroundings much easier.
